The Christmas Tree!

PDG NEWS CHRISTMAS TREEIn millions of homes around the world from Buckingham Palace to the White House, the Christmas Tree is a tradition that owes its popularity in part to Queen Victoria, as whatever she did at court became immediately fashionable! In fact, when the monarch and her German Prince, Albert, were sketched in the illustrated London News standing with their children around a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, the trend was well and truly born.

At Prop Dead Gorgeous, we have a huge selection of faux Christmas trees of the highest quality in an array of colours, shapes, sizes and finishes, along with a wonderful selection of embellishments from around the world.

As for the theme – well where do we start? From Traditional Rustic, Birds of a Feather, Pink Sugar Candy, Gold on Gold, Santa’s Workshop and Whimsical Winter to Berry Berry, the list is endless …

Our trees can be dry hired or fully decorated and are perfect for retail installations, corporate or private events. We also offer a complimentary styling service so for more details contact gemma.taylor@propdeadgorgeous.com

Sneek. Peek. Reveal!

CAP NEWS SNEEK PEEKIt’s not that much of a secret that Christmas always comes early at Crafty Arty Parties. In fact, it starts way back in January when our many discerning clients set out their wish lists for ‘stand out’ events the following year.

During 2015, there have been many interesting concepts and ideas bouncing around corporate boardrooms, and although we can’t quite reveal all at this stage, we thought we would let you take a ‘sneak peek’ glimpse into the world of Crafty Arty Parties, and the inspiration for some of these imminent  events.

Themes this year have been clear cut- either traditional, opulent or just ‘out there,’ and I have to say we rather do like the ‘out there’ events!

We have had all sorts of briefs including a  Japanese inspired Fun Day,  a Jack and the Beanstalk Farmers Market and even a Secret Grotto inspired by King Ludwig’s fairytale castle in Neuschwanstein, the ones that were ‘de rigueur’ in gardens of wonderful country estates. Then you get the picture, right!?

Our prop company, Prop Dead Gorgeous is putting the finishing touches to some sensational props, and we are very excited to take delivery of our first herd of animatronic cows that you can actually milk (fake milk of course, darling)

For more details on some of the above events do visit our website www.craftyartyworld.com in January 2016, where we will finally reveal all. In the meantime  if you’re organising an event in 2016 then please contact: kitty@craftyartyparties.com

The Addams Family

PDG NEWS ADDAMS FAMILYWe love a challenge!

And they certainly don’t come more exciting this Halloween, as Prop Dead Gorgeous recreates a fabulous themed show set from the iconic 1960’s American TV show The Addams Family for a shopping centre’s Halloween promotional event.

Take one giant lion, a giraffe in suit, a curious fish tank,  a Medieval suit of armour, sweeping stair case, family portrait, vases of feathers and a house on ‘Cemetery Lane’ and you’re getting the picture, right?

For more details on this great campaign and to see live images from the event as they happen, visit us @propdeadgorg or @craftyarty or enjoy them on facebook between October 26th to October 31st inclusive.

Want to build on Park Lane?

CAP NEWS MONOPOLYNot known to be shy on the creative front, Crafty Arty Parties were delighted to work on an unusual brief for a banking giant who wanted us to create a ‘stand out’ corporate family fun day based on the famous board game, ‘Monopoly.’

Monopoly in fact originated from the United States way back in the nineteen hundreds as a board game. It was intended to demonstrate that an economy which rewards wealth creation, is better than one in which monopolists work under fewer constraints!

Taking inspiration from its colourful history, and the fact that Monopoly has been locally licensed in more than 110 countries and printed in more than 40 languages, gave the Crafty Arty team more than enough background material to deliver a spectacular event full of chance, skill, risk and action!

A master of ceremonies was brought in to open the event as guests enjoyed the highs and lows of exciting entertainment and activities, based on either a ‘bull’ or ‘bear’ market!

Cute gets BIGGER!

PDG NEWS CUTE GETS BIGGERThe festive season may be in full swing (well behind the scenes anyway!) but I am delighted to say that at Prop Dead Gorgeous it’s not all about tinsel, trees and topiary.

This last year has seen some unusual commissions come in for film, retail and private hire. Bespoke props are what we do best!

If you can’t find the right prop you are looking for from our vast catalogue, we can make it for you. With full time in-house illustrators, graphic designers, scenic painters, sculptors, animators and theatrical carpenters and costumiers, Prop Dead Gorgeous will bring your vision to life in exciting ways. With over 40,000 square feet of workshops and warehouses, we can cater for set prop and model builds of any scale.

We particularly loved the ‘giant canines’ installations, standing over 3m high, as shown by the real life famous little French bulldog pup, ‘Sailor’. We obviously  have a thing about dogs, as next on the list is Snoopy’s Dog House, ready for The Peanuts Movie which is out on 21st December.
