With all the exciting family film releases this Summer, it’s been one private screening after the other for Crafty Arty Parties and here are just a few of  some of the Summer’s blockbusters we’ve been involved in!

Ice Age Collision Course, the long awaited chapter in the ‘Ice Age’ gang’s adventures, saw the much loved characters attempt to stop a falling asteroid. Crafty Arty Parties’ very own giant woolly mammoth made guest appearances on numerous occasions throughout July, set amongst his towering icebergs and snowy peeks (provided by our theming company Prop Dead Gorgeous), creating the perfect ‘scene setter.’

The BFG is Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic ‘big softie’ giant, and displays incredible technical achievements, with great reviews all round so far. Our enormous 3D foods, chairs, trees and even our giant toothbrush were all rolled out for the red carpet events and provided some great photo opportunities!

Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory, one of our favourites, is the much anticipated story of ‘Dory’ the forgetful blue tang fish, and the search for her long-lost parents. Crafty Arty Parties recently provided pre-screen activities and entertainment for VIP guests and celebrities on the opening weekend with our sister theming company Prop Dead Gorgeous providing a stunning themed backdrop for meet and greets.

Pete’s Dragon – the fantasy adventure film is one we cannot wait to see! Our very own life size ‘dragon cave’ is all packed and ready to go, and we await the film with baited breath… or should we say dragon breath?

Prop Dead Gorgeous offers a huge selection of props to hire, including life size models, artificial foliage, furniture, backdrops, showsets, costumes and grottos as well as custom made items for promotions, retail displays and brand activations!

So we were delighted when the RNLI contacted us to provide bespoke props for their ‘Respect the Water’ drowning prevention campaign this Summer.

Around 190 people die in British and Irish waters each year and the RNLI is aiming to see that number halved in the near future. In fact, half those who die at the coast never initially intend to even get wet – a sobering thought.

The campaign includes ‘Respect the Water’ adverts across cinemas, on billboards and even in radio stations as well as free ‘Jude’s’ ice cream given to the public throughout August weekends in various locations across the UK. For more details on the RNLI, visit www.rnli.org

Prop Dead Gorgeous was delighted to provide a stunning Giant Talking Tree for the ‘Bloom and Grow’ horticultural feast at Canary Wharf this month. Standing over 5m metres high and styled with beautiful faux butterflies, bugs and bees, LED lanterns and hand painted bunting, the installation stopped shoppers in their tracks!

Set over four days, over fifty events were designed to appeal to gardening experts and green fingered novices alike, amongst Canary Wharf’s twenty acre outdoor space as well as in the fabulous shopping malls.

The family friendly festival was perfect to introduce children to the creative and fun side of plants with plenty of activities to sow the gardening seed early on. Prop Dead Gorgeous’ interactive talking tree proved a highlight as youngsters were able to watch, listen and learn a myriad of green fingered stories delivered by mystical tree fairies and their garden friends.

Well it’s been a weekend of royal celebrations that were nothing short of spectacular, and Crafty Arty Parties were right at the heart of it!

In celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday, Saturday 11th June saw the traditional Trooping the Colour parade and carriage procession, watched by her majesty and other royals. Afterwards, the family joined a carriage procession back to the Palace.

Sunday 12th June included the patron’s lunch and a host of other prestigious corporate events in and around the capital. Crafty Arty Parties’ many events over the weekend included a ‘Right Royal Adventure’ family themed fun day at The Tower of London for over 800 VIP guests.
